Approve from your phone
Pair Telegram with your Chief of Staff, then message it and answer its requests from anywhere.
Pair a Telegram bot with your Chief of Staff and you can message your Chief from your phone and approve or deny its requests with a tap. Your computer has to be on and Murage running.
After pairing, link the chat account to yourself so your Chief knows it's you: open Team map → Manage memory → People and verified accounts, find the account and choose This is my account. Until then your Chief won't answer there.
Before you start
- Telegram on your phone.
- About five minutes at your computer.
1. Create a Telegram bot
- In Telegram, open BotFather.
- Send
/newbotand follow the prompts to name it. - Copy the bot token BotFather gives you.
2. Save the token in Murage
- Open Settings → Messaging apps.
- In the Telegram card, paste the token into Bot token.
- Choose Save token. The token is stored encrypted on your computer and isn't shown again.
3. Pair with your Chief
- Choose Pair with Chief. Murage shows a command like
/pairfollowed by a code. - Choose Copy pairing command, or Open Telegram bot to jump to your new bot.
- Send the command to your bot in a private Telegram chat.
When it says Connected, you're done. The pairing reconnects by itself after Murage restarts.
4. Use it
Message your bot in Telegram and your Chief of Staff answers. Your messages share the Chief's current conversation, so you can pick it up on your computer later.
When your Chief needs permission, Telegram shows the request with buttons:
- Approve once or Deny for ordinary requests.
- Approve once, Allow for this task or Deny for stop-line requests, such as messaging someone new.
Each request expires after 10 minutes. Anything that needs a closer look stays in Murage on your computer.
Good to know
- Telegram talks to your Chief of Staff only, from one private chat.
- Send your Chief a voice message in Telegram and it replies with a voice message.
- Slack and Discord work the same way for messaging your Chief, but approvals stay in Murage. See Channels.
