Install

Murage is free. Get the latest version from the download page or straight from the Murage releases page.

The Fuigo engine comes in the box, so Murage itself runs without Node.js, npm or anything else installed. To do useful work, a bot still needs something to think with, such as a signed-in Claude Code or Codex, a model key, or Flux Router. The welcome walks you through that. Installing Claude Code, Codex or another npm-based engine through Murage uses npm, so it needs Node.js; Fuigo needs only a model key or Flux Router.

Mac#

Murage runs on Apple silicon and Intel Macs. The Mac download is signed and notarized by Apple.

Windows#

Murage runs on 64-bit Windows (x64). The Windows installer is signed.

1. Download the Windows installer.
2. Run it. Murage installs for your user account.
3. Open Murage from the Start menu.

Ubuntu#

Murage is built for Ubuntu 24.04 on x64. You can use the .deb package or the AppImage. Checksums for the Ubuntu downloads are published next to them on the releases page.

The file names include the version number, such as Murage-<version>-amd64.deb. The commands below match any version. To install the .deb, open a terminal in the folder you downloaded it to and run:

sudo apt install ./Murage-*.deb

To use the AppImage instead, make it executable and open it:

chmod +x Murage-*.AppImage
./Murage-*.AppImage

Where your data lives#

Murage keeps your bots, conversations, memory and settings in a folder called .murage in your home folder. Updating or reinstalling the app doesn't touch it.
