Voice extras
Talking without a wake word, cleaning up dictation, getting back to a paused call, phone-number calls, and what to do when the voice list or a voice clip will not load.
Is there a wake word?
No. Murage listens only during a call, or while you hold to talk or dictate. There is no "Hey Murage" and nothing listening in the background.
If you want to talk for a while, start a call and leave it open: it listens the whole time until you hang up, which is what most people wanting a wake word are after. For one message, hold to talk in the message box, or dictate on a Mac. On the phone app, Ask Murage lets you ask your bots from anywhere on the phone, by voice or with one tap, and on Android you can make Murage your phone's assistant app, so the assistant gesture opens it.
Clean up dictation
Dictation comes out as you said it, ums included. Each bot has a Clean up dictation switch under Voice & alerts. On this device it removes ums, fixes punctuation and applies corrections you made out loud, such as "no, Thursday". You can undo it any time, and the setting is per device.
Getting back to a call
A call you leave does not end. The bar at the top says Call paused or "Call with name paused." Choose Return to call on a computer, or Tap to resume on a phone, to pick it up. While a call is live and you are in another chat, the bar says "On a call with name." and Return to call takes you back.
Can a bot phone a real number?
Calls in Murage happen inside the app, between you and your bot. Murage does not dial ordinary phone numbers, and you cannot ring a bot from a phone's dialer.
For calls to other people there are two routes:
- A calling service's API. Ask a bot to connect to the calling service you use. Bots can build the connection themselves and keep the key you give them. The bot never places a call to someone new on its own: the stop line asks you first before it contacts a new person.
- Your phone's dialer. With phone tools on a paired phone, a bot can open the dialer with a number ready. You tap Call.
Your bots can also call you, when something needs you. See bot calls.
Troubleshooting
