Murage vs Claude Duet

Claude Duet is Anthropic’s proactive agent, in a research preview. Murage is a team led by a Chief of Staff that works with any engine, Claude included, on your own sign-ins and your own machine.

The short answer

You talk to one Chief of Staff. It builds the team, and each bot runs the engine that suits its job, on the plan or key you already have. An engine is the AI that does a bot’s thinking. To run teams and use tools, pick a tool-capable one: the built-in Fuigo engine with a supported model, Claude Code, Codex or Hermes. A plain OpenAI-compatible endpoint works for chat and drafting only. Portraits made with Murage’s own avatar generator. See every engine

Murage does not run Claude Duet. It takes the same idea a layer up

Duet is an agent that comes to you. Murage is a Chief of Staff and a team that work for you, on your machine, on any engine, Claude included.

Both do real work without being asked twice: morning briefs, follow-ups, research and drafts. Murage is a Chief of Staff, Ember, who takes the job, builds a team of specialist bots for it and runs them on your own computer, with your own server (VPS) available as a bot’s computer, each on the engine you pick. Claude Code is one of those engines, so you can keep Claude and still get the team.

What Murage adds on top

  • A Chief of Staff, Ember, who builds the team for each job and hands out the work
  • Any engine, chosen per bot: Fuigo (built in), OpenClaw, Hermes, Claude Code and Codex, plus more
  • Your own sign-ins: the AI plan you already have, or your own key
  • Keep using Claude: run any bot on Claude Code with your own Claude plan, next to bots on other engines
  • Your Chief of Staff in Telegram, Slack, Discord and WhatsApp
  • Teams export and import, and the Agency Builders programme for agencies running bots for clients
  • Routines you schedule, with a morning brief offered in first run
  • 1,600+ apps, plus any public API or MCP: a bot works out the connection itself

The brief

“Go through my inbox before I get in. Draft replies in my voice. Send nothing.”

What came back

Twelve emails came in. The team drafted eight replies, set four aside, and left two questions only the owner could answer. Nothing was sent.

A team, led by a Chief of Staff

Ember takes the brief, builds the team of specialist bots and runs it. You talk to one lead and the work spreads across the right bots, each with its own memory and job.

Claude, and every other engine

Run a bot on Claude Code with the Claude plan you already have, and others on Fuigo, OpenClaw, Hermes, Codex or a local model.

Your own sign-ins, your own machine

Murage runs on your own computer, and a bot can use your own server (VPS) as its computer, with the AI plan you already have.

Every chat app

Message your Chief of Staff on Telegram, Slack, Discord or WhatsApp.

Agency Builders programme

Murage runs the Agency Builders programme for agencies that run bots for clients. You can also export a team and import it elsewhere.

1,600+ apps plus your own MCP servers

Connect 1,600+ apps and your own MCP servers. Give a bot a public API beyond that list and it works out the connection itself.

Routines on your schedule

Schedule routines, and first run offers a morning brief.

Where Claude Duet is ahead.

Fair’s fair. If one of these matters most to you, it may be the better choice today.

  1. 1

    It comes to you

Duet messages you first with a morning brief and checks your accounts every few hours, on its own computer in the cloud. Murage runs on whichever computer it is installed on, and works while that computer is on and Murage is open. A bot can also use your own server (VPS) as its computer.

  2. 2

    A bigger connector catalog

Duet offers 6,000+ connectors and plugins in the Claude Marketplace, against Murage’s 1,600+ apps plus your own MCP servers.

  3. 3

    Hard limits on money

Some actions stay blocked even with your approval, such as trading and moving money between bank accounts.

  4. 4

Topic channels with one shared memory

Duet’s topic channels share one memory.

  5. 5

    A standalone phone app

Duet is a standalone app on iOS and Android, and on claude.ai.

Which should you choose?

Duet is a proactive agent that comes to you. Murage is a team on your machine, led by a Chief of Staff, on the engines you choose, and Claude can be one of them.

Choose Murage if

  • You want a team of bots led by a Chief of Staff
  • You want to keep Claude for some bots and use other engines for others
  • You want the work on your own machine
  • You run bots for clients and want a team you can export and import, with the Agency Builders programme behind it

Choose Claude Duet if

  • You are a Claude Pro or Max subscriber in the US and want an agent that checks in on its own
  • You want an agent that keeps working on its own cloud computer without you running a machine
  • You want 6,000+ connectors and plugins

Questions about Murage and Claude Duet.

What is Claude Duet?+

Claude Duet is Anthropic’s proactive agent, in a research preview with a waitlist for Pro and Max in the US. It sends a morning brief, checks your connected accounts every few hours and works on its own computer in the cloud. Checked October 26, 2026.

Can I use Claude with Murage instead?+

Yes. Any Murage bot can run on Claude Code with your own Claude plan, and other bots on the same team can run on Fuigo, OpenClaw, Hermes or Codex. Murage never signs you in to Claude; you sign in to Claude Code yourself.

Can I watch what Duet does in its browser?+

No. You cannot watch Duet work in its browser or take over the browser.

Does Murage keep running when my computer is off?+

Murage runs on whichever computer you install it on, as long as that computer is on and Murage is open. A bot can also use your own server (VPS) as its computer.

Can I set up a team for a client?+

You can export a team and import it elsewhere. For agencies that run bots for clients, Murage runs the Agency Builders programme.

Is this allowed under Anthropic’s terms?+

Yes. Murage never signs you in, and never sees, stores or passes on your Claude login. It helps you install the official Claude Code, you sign in to Claude Code yourself on Anthropic’s own screen, and Murage runs it as a bot’s engine. Anthropic’s policy says its rules don’t “prevent an end user from signing in to the unmodified Claude Code binary with their own Claude subscription” (Claude Code legal and compliance, checked September 26, 2026).

Your usage counts against your own plan, as it would if you ran Claude Code yourself. A team of bots gets through that allowance faster than one chat, so for heavy work you can give any bot an Anthropic API key instead. Murage is not affiliated with or endorsed by Anthropic.
