Channels

Murage runs on your computer, but you don't have to sit at it. These pages cover each way in, with exact setup steps, what works, the limits and how to fix common problems.

Every channel talks to the Murage running on your computer. Your computer has to be on, awake and running Murage. If it sleeps, messages wait or may be missed, depending on the channel.

Chat apps#

Message your Chief of Staff from a chat app you already use. Each one uses your own bot or app, pairs with a one-time code, and talks to your Chief only.

• Telegram: one private chat. The only chat app where you can approve requests with a tap.
• Slack: one direct message with your own private Slack app. Approvals stay in Murage.
• Discord: one direct message with your own Discord bot. Approvals stay in Murage.

The whole app, somewhere else#

• Phone and web app: open your whole Murage workspace in the browser on your phone, a tablet or another laptop, over Tailscale or on the same Wi-Fi.
• iPhone and Android app: coming. The same workspace in an app, over your own Tailscale network.
• Menu bar and system tray: see what needs you, answer ordinary requests and message a bot without opening the window.

Which one should I use?#

• Quick replies and approvals from anywhere: Telegram.
• You already live in Slack or Discord: pair it for chatting, and answer approvals in Murage or Telegram.
• You want every bot, conversation and the Inbox: the phone web app.
• You're at your computer but the window is closed: the menu bar or tray.

Rules every chat channel shares#

• Only your Chief of Staff answers. Other bots aren't reachable from Telegram, Slack or Discord.
• Only the one account you pair can talk to it. Group chats, servers and channels are ignored.
• A reply goes back to the chat app only for a task you started there. Work you start in Murage stays in Murage, and routines report in the app, not in chat.
• Send your Chief a voice message and it replies with a voice message. Voice needs Flux Router credits or your own voice keys. See Voice.
• Typing "approve" or "yes" in a chat never approves anything. On Telegram you tap the buttons. On Slack and Discord, answer in Murage.
