Does Murage replace Codex?

No, it runs it. Codex is the official Codex CLI you install and sign in to yourself, and Murage adds a Chief of Staff, a team, memory and approvals on top.

How does Murage sign in to Codex?

It doesn’t. Murage uses the official Codex CLI you install and sign in to yourself. The sign-in stays with Codex, and Murage adds no fee.

Can I switch engines later?

Yes. A bot’s engine is a setting you can change at any time. Its memory, skills, routines and approvals live in Murage, not in the engine, so they stay put when you switch.

Can my staff use it too?

Yes. Each person runs Murage on their own computer, with their own AI sign-in. Build a team once, export it, and everyone imports the same bots, skills and routines; logins never travel. Bots can post drafts to your team’s Slack channels through connected apps, with your approval. Shared always-on workspaces will come with Murage Cloud, which isn’t open yet.

Are Codex and ChatGPT Work different products?

Since July 9, 2026 they share one app and one set of usage limits. ChatGPT Work also replaced ChatGPT agent for multi-step tasks.

Is Murage made by OpenAI?

No. Murage is an independent open-source project. It is not affiliated with or endorsed by OpenAI.
