The import check
What Official, Worth a look and Blocked mean when you import a bot, team or skill, why an import can add nothing, and what every imported bot starts with.
The three results
- Official. Signed by Ferrox Labs. The library teams and skills carry this mark.
- Worth a look. The check found text you should read. It is listed under What the check found with the file and line. If you are happy with it, tick I reviewed the warnings and want to import this selection. and import.
- Blocked. The check found something it will not let through. The preview says "Import blocked. Remove the flagged text from the package before trying again." Fix the package, then import it again.
What it looks for reads like a list of things you would not want a stranger's instructions to do: read passwords, keys or tokens, send data to an outside website, run risky commands, change files outside its own folder, tell the bot to ignore its instructions, hide content in encoded or invisible text, or try to get more access than it needs. Each finding is named in those words, with the place it was found.
What every import starts with
Imported bots start at Ask, whatever the file says. You can raise a bot's access later in its settings. Routines arrive paused and at Ask, and skills land switched off until you turn them on for a bot. A package cannot give itself Full access on the way in.
Why an import added nothing
You see
The check could not finish, so nothing was imported. Please try again.Do this
The scan was interrupted, for instance by Stop checking or by Murage closing midway. An unfinished check imports nothing at all, so try the import again.
You see
This package is too large to check, so it was not imported.Do this
ZIP packages over 52 MB and team files over 1 MB are refused before the check starts. Take large media out of the package and import it again.
You see
This team has too many members.Do this
A team file with more than 200 members is refused. Split it into smaller teams.
You see
That legacy team file is not valid JSON.Do this
The file is damaged or is not a team file. Export it again from the workspace it came from.
You see
ZIP package import needs a local file in the Murage desktop app. Open this package there.Do this
A ZIP must be picked from the computer running Murage. From a phone or another browser, save the file on the computer first and import it in the desktop app.
Why an import added less than it promised
A team can declare skills it needs. When one of them cannot be installed, or installs but will not switch on, the import still goes ahead and the message in the sidebar tells you: "2 skills could not be installed" or "1 skill arrived switched off". Open the bot's skills to see which, and install or switch on what you want.
