Keyboard shortcuts
Every keyboard shortcut in Murage, grouped by where it works, with Mac and Windows or Linux keys.
You can use Murage with the keyboard for most everyday work. This page lists every shortcut in the current release, grouped by where it works.
On a Mac, use Cmd (⌘). On Windows and Linux, use Ctrl instead. Where a shortcut uses Option on a Mac, press Alt on Windows and Linux.
To see the common ones inside the app, open the Tools menu in the sidebar and choose Keyboard shortcuts. The list there is searchable, so you can type an action or a key.
App-wide
These work from anywhere in the main window.
- Cmd+K (Mac) / Ctrl+K (Windows, Linux): open or close the command palette. Search bots, channels and messages and jump straight to one.
- Cmd+N / Ctrl+N: create a new bot.
- Cmd+1 to Cmd+9 / Ctrl+1 to Ctrl+9: jump to bot 1 to 9, in the order they appear in your sidebar. Hidden bots are skipped.
- Cmd+Shift+] / Ctrl+Shift+]: go to the next bot.
- Cmd+Shift+[ / Ctrl+Shift+[: go to the previous bot.
- Esc: close the dialog, menu, palette or find bar that's open.
Conversations
- Cmd+F / Ctrl+F: find in the current conversation, in a bot chat or a channel.
- Enter (in the find bar): go to the next match.
- Shift+Enter (in the find bar): go to the previous match.
- Esc (in the find bar): close it.
Message box
- Enter (Return on a Mac): send your message.
- Shift+Enter: start a new line without sending.
- Up arrow, in an empty message box: edit your last message, where editing is available.
- Esc while dictating: stop the recording.
When the @ mention list or the / command list is open:
- Up arrow and Down arrow: move through the list.
- Enter or Tab: pick the highlighted item.
- Esc: close the list and keep typing.

Voice calls
On a call with one bot or with a channel:
- Space: interrupt the bot while it's speaking.
- Esc: hang up.
- Hold Control+Option (Mac only): push to talk. Hold both keys while you speak and release them to send. This works when the call uses your Mac's own speech recognition. The line under the call controls tells you which mode you're in: "Hold Control + Option to talk" or "Talk over me to interrupt".

Routines calendar
In Routines, on the Routines & calls tab, when you aren't typing in a field:
- C: create a new routine or call (opens Quick create).
- T: jump to today.
- 1: day view.
- 3: three-day view.
- W: week view.
- Esc: close the quick-create box or editor and clear the selection.
Editors and dialogs
- Cmd+Enter / Ctrl+Enter: save channel instructions in the channel instructions editor.
- Cmd+Enter / Ctrl+Enter: create or save a project from the What is it about? box.
- Esc: close these boxes without saving.
The rich text editor used for House Rules, skills and Markdown files has its own shortcuts:
- Cmd+B / Ctrl+B: bold.
- Cmd+I / Ctrl+I: italic.
- Cmd+Z / Ctrl+Z: undo.
- Cmd+Shift+Z / Ctrl+Shift+Z: redo.
- /: open the block menu (headings, lists, quote, code, table and more). Use the arrow keys and Enter to pick one.
Sidebar
- Option+Up arrow or Option+Down arrow (Mac) / Alt+Up arrow or Alt+Down arrow (Windows, Linux): move a sidebar section up or down. Focus the section's heading first with Tab.
Things that aren't shortcuts
Murage doesn't register any system-wide shortcuts. Every shortcut on this page works only while the Murage window is focused. The usual text shortcuts (copy, paste, select all, undo) work in every text box as they do in any app.
