Qwen
Run bots on Alibaba's Qwen Code agent with Flux Router, your own model keys or a local model.
Qwen Code is Alibaba's command-line coding agent. Murage runs it as an engine. It's listed as Qwen.
Unlike most engines, Qwen in Murage doesn't come with a cloud model list of its own. You give it models from Flux Router, from your saved model keys, or from a local server.
Qwen is a trademark of its owner. Murage isn't affiliated with Alibaba.
When to use it
- You like Qwen Code as an agent and want to point it at models you choose.
- You want Flux Router tiers or a local model with a full set of tools.
Install
Qwen's standalone installer doesn't need Node.js.
- Open Settings → Engines and find Qwen.
- If it says Not detected, choose Open install in Terminal. Murage opens Terminal with the right command for your computer.
On macOS and Linux:

- Back in Murage, choose Check again.
There's no separate sign-in step in Murage. Give Qwen a model instead:
- connect Flux Router, or
- add a key in Settings → Models from a provider with an OpenAI-style API (OpenAI, OpenRouter, DeepSeek, Mistral, Groq or xAI), or
- add a server under Settings → Models → Local models.
What works
- Tools: Murage's tools, including handing work to other bots, memory search, your own MCP servers, connected apps, the built-in browser, and cloud and local computers. Control of this computer is offered when Qwen asks before each action.
- Pictures you attach go straight to the model, if the model accepts images.
- Model picking: Flux Router tiers, models from your OpenAI-style keys, and local models.
- Engine commands: type
/to see Qwen's own commands next to Murage's, once a chat has started.
What Murage changes in Qwen's settings
- Flux Router: Murage passes the Flux key to Qwen only for the turn. It never writes the key to Qwen's settings file.
- Local models: when you pick a local model, Murage adds that server to Qwen's settings file (
~/.qwen/settings.json) so Qwen can reach it. If the file has comments, isn't valid JSON or has an unexpected shape, Murage leaves it unchanged and the turn stops with a message instead.
Known limits
- No Qwen cloud catalog appears in Murage. If you have no Flux Router key, no OpenAI-style key and no local model, a Qwen bot has nothing to pick.
- Voice calls need Flux Router credits or your own voice keys.
Troubleshooting
"Qwen Code CLI is not installed" Install it with the command above, restart Murage, or choose Set CLI… and pick the qwen program yourself.
"~/.qwen/settings.json has comments or trailing commas Murage can't keep, so it was left unchanged." Remove the comments, or add the local server entry by hand, then try again.
"… has an unexpected entry, so Murage left it unchanged." Fix the entry the message names, then try again.
The model list is empty Connect Flux Router, add an OpenAI-style key in Settings → Models, or test a local model.
