Image prompt blocks and reference packs
Keep a character, a brand look or a style the same in every image a bot makes, with saved prompt blocks and reference packs.
What each one is for
A saved prompt block is text. Write it once (say, "Ember: a small fire-orange robot with round eyes and a chipped left antenna") and a bot can put it at the front of any image prompt by name. Blocks keep a character, a product or a house style the same across bots and weeks.
Keep a block to the things that must not change: the character, the colours, the logo placement. Do not put the scene in it. A block that describes a whole picture makes every picture the same picture, and you end up fighting it in each prompt.
A saved reference pack is a set of images a bot kept from a conversation, for example the three product photos you attached last Tuesday. When a bot uses the pack, those images go to the model before any references in the current message, and each image is checked against its saved copy every time.
Both are versioned. Save as a new version keeps the old text, and images already made keep the version they used. Deleting one tells you the same: "Earlier images keep the version they used."
Save a prompt block
Step 1
Open the library
Open SettingsTools, find Image generation, and choose Saved prompt blocks and reference packs.
You're done when: you can see Saved prompt blocks and Saved reference packs.
Step 2
Write the block
Choose New workspace block. Give it a Name in lowercase letters, digits and hyphens, such as ember-character or brand-look, paste the Text, and choose Save block.
A workspace block is visible to every bot. A bot can also save its own blocks from a conversation; those show with the scope A bot, and a bot's own block wins when both share a name.
You're done when: the library says Saved name v1.
Step 3
Use it in a prompt
Ask the bot for an image and name the block: "Make a picture of ember-character at a market stall." The bot lists the blocks it can see, puts the block's text first, then the scene. Up to 8 blocks can go on one request, in the order you name them.
You're done when: the image carries the block's details without you repeating them.
Save a reference pack
Reference packs are saved by a bot, from images in the conversation it is in. Attach the images, then ask: "Save these three as a reference pack called spring-range." The pack appears in the library with its scope, version and image count. From then on, "use the spring-range pack" brings those images into any image request, counted against the model's reference limit.
Good to know
- Names. Lowercase letters, digits and hyphens only, up to 64 characters. A bot can ask for a particular version with
name@version. - Order. Blocks go first, in the order given, then the scene prompt. Pack images go before the references attached to the current message.
- Budget. A model with a small prompt budget may not fit a long block. The bot reads the block in full and condenses it rather than cutting it quietly.
- Approval. An image request still shows you the approval card with the connection, model, size and references, unless the bot is allowed to make images without asking.
The library needs an image provider first. If Image generation shows "This model cannot generate images here", pick a model that can, and run Check this model now to prove the connection works.
