If the design requires exactly 2 columns on tablet and 3 on desktop, the intrinsic approach will not reliably produce this. Handle this by layering explicit grid-template-columns at named breakpoints on top of the intrinsic base, or by accepting that the column count varies and confirming this with the designer.
