Format values to reduce cognitive load -- viewers should read values, not calculate them: - Currency: $2.4M (not $2,400,000 or $2.40M); use one decimal only when it changes the story ($2.4M vs. $2.5M -- the 0.1 matters; $24.1M vs. $24.2M -- round to $24M) - Percentages: 3.2% (not 3.17% or 3%); use one decimal for percentages below 10%, round to whole numbers for percentages above 10% unless precision matters operationally - Counts: 4.2K (not 4,187); use K/M/B suffixes consistently - Ratios: 2.4x (not 2.38x) - NPS and index scores: whole numbers only (42, not 42.3).
